Stoke-On-Trent and Staffordshire Local Enterprise Partnership

Background

In Summer 2010 partnerships across the country submitted bids to Government to form regional LEPs. In October Government announced that Stoke on Trent and Staffordshire's bid had been successful.

This new business promotion partnership will provide a solid local focus for economic regeneration, representing local businesses in pushing for a better business deal for the area. It will also work with neighbouring partnerships where there is a clear mutual benefit and everyone gains.

As it grows it will forge partnerships between business, the public sector, higher and further education, community enterprises and other partners to deliver economic success.

Priorities

The Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire LEP has responsibility for overseeing the delivery of Outcome 1 'Staffordshire will have a thriving economy'. To achieve this we will:

Develop a more business-friendly environment;

Brand and market Staffordshire as an aspirational place to live, work, visit and invest regionally, nationally and internationally;

Raise aspirations and improve the attainment of skills linked to employment opportunities.

The LEP will use the expertise and knowledge of its members to set clear priorities for growth and drive fast solutions to creating new jobs and supporting business growth.

The LEP will develop additional priorities rooted in a clear and robust evidence base.

Membership

The LEP is chaired by Ron Dougan. More information about him and the other members of the board can be found on the LEP website:
