About the Staffordshire Strategic Partnership

The Staffordshire Strategic Partnership (SSP) is the county Local Strategic Partnership (LSP). It provides a framework for all agencies, sectors and partners to work collectively to promote the economic, social and environmental well being of the County. 

The SSP has three main roles:

  • To develop a long term vision for Staffordshire;
  • To provide a forum to explore and discuss new issues and to recommend ways of tackling them in the partnership environment;
  • To develop the Sustainable Community Strategy for the County.

Mr Philip Atkins (County Councillor - Leader of Staffordshire County Council) chairs the SSP, while Christina Webb is the dedicated SSP Manager. Christina manages the day to day business of the SSP, as well organising the SSP Events and leading the development of the Sustainable Community Strategy for Staffordshire.

SSP Structure

There are several components that make-up SSP and all partners are committed to working together to improve outcomes for Staffordshire's communities. The key strategic partnerships are detailed below:

Staffordshire Strategic Board

Staffordshire Strategic Board provides strategic and community leadership in place shaping, priority setting and ensuring that we achieve our outcomes for the area, to ensure a better quality of life for residents of Staffordshire through the Sustainable Community Strategy and the Local Area Agreement (LAA).

Staffordshire Executive Board

The Executive Board is concerned with putting the Sustainable Community Strategy and LAA into practice by ensuring effective partnership working within the County as well as looking at opportunities for developing partnership delivery and processes on behalf of the wider Staffordshire partnership.

Countywide Thematic Partnerships

Thematic Partnerships oversee the development, delivery and management of the LAA and support the delivery of the Sustainable Community Strategy from a thematic perspective. Some of the partnerships may fulfil broader statutory functions.

District Local Strategic Partnerships (LSPs)

Each District also has a Local Strategic Partnership and provides strategic and community leadership in place shaping and priority setting for the area, to ensure a better quality of life for residents through their District Sustainable Community Strategy and by supporting delivery of the Countywide Sustainble Community Strategy.
