Locality Working
Locality working refers to partners working together with the community to identify local solutions to local priorities. Local priorities are likely to be a combination of evidence-based priorities, such as educational attainment, crime rates, antisocial behaviour, teenage pregnancies, etc, and local priorities such as the fear of crime. Members of the community are likely to be significant in driving improvements forward and sustaining progress in the longer term. The key to tackling a range of issues in communities is through developing stronger communities.
Locality working may result in the public sector jointly redesigning sevice delivery to suit the needs of the community, thereby delivering better results more efficiently.
Locality working has developed successfully in many areas across Staffordshire. Some recent examples where locality working is being used to address a range of issues include tackling the impact of alcohol, addressing complex needs in an area of Cannock, and improving children's health and wellbeing.
More information about these projects can be found on these pages. You can also find out more about locality working in Tamworth, (links to other projects will be added as they become available).
