Local Economic Assessment for Staffordshire - May 2008
At a recent Staffordshire Observatory event, Jonathan Vining - Principal Economic Research Officer, Staffordshire County Council - gave an extremely interesting presentation Towards a Local Economic Assessment for Staffordshire. As part of the presentation, Jonathan provided background information on local economic assessments, including recent government policy changes which have formally introduced them, Staffordshire's proposed approach and the current time-table for action. Worklessness Event - July 2008
An extremely successful county-wide worklessness event was held on 15th July 2008 at the Yarnfield Training and Conference Centre. The event attracted over 60 participants from around the county and West Midlands region.
The event focussed on the integrated employment and skills approach to tackling worklessness across Staffordshire. It was organised to support links to delivery of one of the 35 LAA Indicators: NI 152 Working age population on out of work benefits.
