Our Priorities
Vibrant, prosperous and sustainable economy
What will this mean for Staffordshire?
Staffordshire will be known regionally and nationally as a high knowledge, high value added, high skilled inclusive economy.
Our County will be recognised as a place of innovation, enterprise and entrepreneurship, where new businesses thrive and survive, are profitable and contribute to the prosperity of our communities.
Staffordshire will contribute significantly more to the West Midlands Gross Value Added and enjoy greater competitiveness, than it currently does. There will be greater amounts of knowledge based employment and levels of research and development.
Our workforce will be better skilled with everyone having the opportunity to develop and improve their skills and achieve their full potential.

Local Area Agreement for Staffordshire
Staffordshire's people tell us what 'a vibrant, prosperous and sustainable economy' means to them:
"It's about how jobs are created in the county. Basically that comes down to local industry, and making sure people are attracted into the area so the conditions have got to be right. All the services on offer in the county have got to be top-notch and the area has to look attractive." (Philip)
"Staffordshire is predominantly a rural county and we need to make sure jobs are accessible in all areas, not just in towns. This means people having the opportunity to develop their own businesses, and in turn create jobs which would be great for Staffordshire's economy." (James)
"Work needs to be more accessible to everybody. In the future I want to go out and earn money and if and when I eventually have children I want to be able to teach them that the way to live life is to go out to work and earn your own way. It's about making sure everyone can do this, whether they're disabled or not." (Chloe)
