Staffordshire Third Sector

This page provides information to partners on work that is taking place across Staffordshire to develop a thriving third sector.

Staffordshire Strategic Partnership is committed to working with and supporting the development of the third sector in Staffordshire. Partners have signed up to delivering on National Indicator 7: developing a thriving third sector as a key priority for Staffordshire in the Local Area Agreement.

The new Staffordshire Compact was launched at the NI 7 conference in June 2009. Partners are now working towards embedding the Compact within Staffordshire Organisations through the Compact Codes of Practice and a Resolution Process.

The Staffordshire Compact

The Staffordshire Compact is a protocol that clarifies the relationship between third sector organisations and statutory agencies in terms of how they work together and the expectations of each party.

Compact Codes of Practice

The challenge is to embed the usage of the Compact within organisations in Staffordshire. To help achieve this task, five Codes of Practice which accompany the Compact are now available:

Compact Resolution Procedure

Partners have also come together to develop a simple Compact Resolution Procedure and supporting documentation. We encourage any stakeholders who think that they may be covered by this process to use the documents below.
